Killarney Adventure Race & The Human Race

Helly Hansen Killarney Adventure Race 2013
On Saturday 5th of October a group of adventure enthusiasts ( or "you must be mad") from all over Ireland and beyond, arrived in Killarney for the annual Killarney Adventure Race 2013.
A well established race which is growing in numbers every year. If you do it once, you want to come back to do it faster, if this is your first time you want to know "what all the fuss is about". With a choice of 3 different distance races and Relay options,  in one of the best locations in Ireland for this type of race, over 1800 people (most of them clinically sane) started from The Gap of Dunloe (59K & 69K route) or The Gleneagle Hotel (27K).
A sunny day with temperature around 20*C, it was the perfect setting to try to finish in one piece and enjoy the day of running, hiking, cycling, kayaking, running, hiking, cycling .....

St.Brendan's AC was represented by Artur Nowak in 69K distance, finishing in 5h35min. A major improvement on KAR 2012.

The Human Race
University of Limerick grounds was the venue for The Human Race consisting of a run on one of 3 distances: 10K, Half Marathon and 30K.
We had 2 athletes from St.Brendan's AC - John Lynch in 10K - 40:43 (9th overall) and Ursula Barrett in 30K - 2:47.04 (16th in women's category) as the long training run for Dublin City Marathon.
