Judging from this picture, Ray D'Arcy seems to have enjoyed being able to take part and experience the great atmosphere and run the course.

Overall winner was Julio Cesar Castro in 32:43, followed by Donal O'Callaghane in 32:50 and John Barrett in 35:09.

First lady was Ann Marie Holland in 38:07, second Maria McCarthy in 38:17 and Aoife O'Connor in 38:56.

We would welcome any feedback on the event and suggestions on possible future improvements.

  1. Second time doing this run and really enjoyed it, lovely warm down jog along the beach and soak the legs in the sea after it,can't be beat for recovery, only thing I would improve upon would be to get chip timing rather than the finishers medal and goody bag for next year if possible, maybe give medals to placers in age cats if you like, other than that a lovely run

  3. Enjoyed the race. Very nice and smooth course. Think it might have been a good idea to have water stations spread out a bit more and also if possible provide bottles in future - cups are a bit awkward to manage when running! Overall, well organised event, liked the goodie bags and gels (must be a first!) - will def be back next year. Thanks.

  4. well done to all who organised the run and all the stewards who lined the route early on a murky bank holiday sunday morning. Great to see so many people out running too and course is great for running a good time.

  5. A Good Race, if I was to suggest anything I'd say instead of giving us the energy gel in the goodie bags, they could be given out at the 5km marker (God knows, I could have done with one then!!).

But I liked the goody bags- refreshingly free of junk!
