Munster Juvenile U15-U19 Indoor Championships 2025

Aoibhinn started Saturday off in the GU15 60mH, a great run (9.92, very close to her pb of 9.87) saw her win her heat comfortably and through to the final. Quick stepping over for the long jump she jumped to 4.57m on the first round and into 3 rd place and she qualified to the final in that position. Aoibhinn then had o switchover for the hurdles final where her run of 10.17 secured the bronze medal. It was then immediately back for the long jump final where on the final round she improved her best mark to 4.72m and that was a 2nd bronze medal secured for Aoibhinn on a busy morning.

On Pit 2 Maddison O’Connor was competing in the GU16 triple jump where she showed she meant

business with a new personal best on her first jump of 8.96m (moving on from 8.76m last summer).

This placed Maddison in 2nd position through the competition until the 5th round where she was displaced into 3rd position. She closed out the competition with a final jump of 8.62m but brought home another Munster medal, the 9m target in Maddison’s sights for Nationals in Athlone. Back in action on Sunday Maddison competed in the GU15 long jump where she placed 9 th overall with a best jump of 3.97m which she jumped on two occasions on the day, just 3cm off a place in the final.

At the scheduled 2pm start time Eoin Malik took the runway for the BU18 long jump competition. On his 3 rd jump he recorded a jump of 5.81m to move into a strong 2 place position. A 4th round jump of 5.87m followed soon after as Eoin edged into 1 st place and eyeing the 6m mark. 5.74m on the 5th round for Eoin as fellow Kerry athlete Dominik Wasila (KVAC) then moved to first with a 5.95m. In the final round and all to play for, Eoin utilising the crowd support on hand that has served him so well in the triple jump before but unfortunately he narrowly broke on that final jump that looked like it would have improved his mark, a Munster silver medal his reward on the day. A great battle between these two Kerry athletes and one to watch for the year ahead. Eoin was in action on day 2 which he clinched his 2nd Munster gold medal of the season with a best jump of 12.47m on the day.
