MUNSTER
T&F CHAMPIONSHIPS U14-U19 2013
In comparison to the weather of the previous weekend
the u14-u19 athletes of St. Brendan’s competed in very wet & windy
conditions. They travelled all the way to Templemore in
Co. Tipperary. Again many of our
athletes achieved personal bests in their many events. Both Lauren O’ Grady
& Riadh Malik got pb’s in the javelin with throws of 16.71m & 16.65m
respectively. Riadh got a second pb in
her shot putt competition with a throw of 8.24m.
Darragh Lowth came 2nd his u14 800m final
in what was a very close battle & it was only in the final 20m that the
race winner pulled away, but a very enjoyable race to the end. Darragh was 4th in the 200m &
was just outside of the medal position.
Eoghan Courtney also came 4th in his 200m with a pb of
23.26sec.

Thank you to club coach Shaz Malik & parent
Barbara O’ Grady who brought the children on Saturday. They had a very long day as the weather
delayed most events & they didn’t arrive home until late Saturday
night. Thank you to Deirdre Courtney who
drove on Sunday but was fortunate not to have as long a day.
