St Brendan’s Open Sports 2013

The sun came out for the St. Brendan’s open sports which took place in Ardfert GAA pitch on Monday 3rd June.  The club would like to extend a thank you to both Ardfert Football club & Ardfert Hurling club for allowing us to use the pitch for the day.

Athletes from Kerry were there & they even travelled from counties Limerick, Clare & Tipperary to help make it a successful day!   

For the second year in a row St. Mary’s AC of Rathkeale, Co. Limerick was the overall winners of the best visiting club award.

To round off the day the very popular family relay took place with 15 families participating!  Our very own head coach David McElligott & family won the family relay shield.  Hopefully they’ll be back next year to retain their title!!

To round of the day the club had their annual bar-b-q.  This year it was held at the retreat centre by kind permission of the nuns.  There were bouncy castles, plenty of soccer, lots of burgers & ice-creams to be had!! A very enjoyable evening for all who attended after a very busy day.  Looking forward to next year already!
