Well done to David Butler who clocked a good 29 mins 3 secs for the Munster masters O35 4 mile road championship in Tipperary on Sunday in very testing conditions.
Elsewhere, three of the club coaches, Moira Horgan, David Butler and Shaz Malik completed day 1 of the level 1 coaching course in Tralee. Zach Walshe got his cert for his 150th parkrun in Tralee where 12 St Brendan’s AC juniors took part on Sunday. A number of club athletes also participated on Saturday in the adult parkrun in Tralee.
This coming Sunday the national masters indoor championships will be staged in Athlone. Among those in action will be treble Munster indoor champion Ursula Barrett in the O40 60m, 200m and long jump, David Butler in the middle distance events and shot, Finbarr Collins in the 1500m, Martin Butler in the shot and middle distance events and David Kissane in the walk, 200m, 400m and shot.

Training continues on Tuesday nights in Ardfert Community Centre with strength and conditioning adult sessions from 8pm till 9pm and non-club members are very welcome. On Wednesdays, training for all juveniles takes place in the Community Centre from 6.30pm to 8pm.
Upcoming events include the Kerry Sportshall Games on Saturday March 23rd in Milltown for U9s to U12s who didn’t won individual championship medal last year.
Also keep in mind the Gneeveguilla AC open sports on April 4th in Castleisland. These open sports should be supported to keep the tradition alive in Kerry, you don't have to be club member to take part.
The all Ireland schools cross country take place on Saturday, 9 March 2019.
