Four St. Brendan’s
athletes made the journey to Cork CIT track last weekend 18th &
19th June, where the Munster Track & Field competition was
taking place this year. Although the
club’s representation was small there were some great performances. The standard of competing was excellent with
the Kerry squads training paying off for our St. Brendan’s athletes. The bad weather didn’t stop these athletes
from bringing home a haul of 8 Munster medals.

For
the second year running Darragh won the high jump even though he was under
pressure as he had also been called for the triple jump. As a result he had to complete all six of his triple
jumps straight after finishing the high jump! He then had an opportunity to
beat the Munster record in the high jump but although he was very close he was
unlucky not to beat it! Aaron qualified in both the discus &
javelin as field events allow the top four athletes to represent in
Nationals. This Munster competition has
seen a huge improvement for our athletes who can be very happy with their
performances. We can’t wait to see what
the AAI competition will bring over the summer!
