Sunday 27^th May was a cloudier day for the senior athletes to compete on.  A smaller group of athletes was available for this year but those that competed did well.  Overall the senior women’s team came third. Results here.

On a scorching hot Saturday 26^th May at An Ríocht track in Castleisland the  St. Brendan’s area was represented by many schools, including, Ardfert, Kilmoyley, Killahan, Abbeydorney, St. Brendan’s Fenit, Spa, Bouleensheer, Glenderry, Killury & Dromnacurra.  Thank you to the teachers & parents who were there on the day to look after & support the pupils.  Here are the results:

Wednesday 23rd May will be the final training session for this season for U9-U13 age group. Training will resume again in September 2012.

 On 4th June we will host our annual Bar-B-Q for every athlete in the club whether they compete or not. We would love to see all athletes at this event.

CO.CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS 2012

Over a lovely sunny weekend the Co. Championships were held at An Ríocht track In Castleisland on the 12^th & 13^th May 2012.  It was great to see our younger athletes out in force.  There were lots medals brought home over the weekend with many athletes getting personal bests.  It was wonderful to see the great club spirit being held up by the athletes, parents & coaches.  Thank you to all who travelled & supported over the weekend.

Kerry Co. Championships

Kerry Co. Championships 12th & 13th May 2012

This coming Saturday is the beginning of the co.championships.  We have won the championships five years in a row now & are hoping to bring home a sixth title!!
A bus will leave Ardfert Medical Centre at 10am on both Saturday & Sunday mornings.  The cost for the bus is €5 for the whole weekend.  It leaves Topaz near O' Donnell's at 10.10am on both mornings aswell.  The return time will depend on how the competition goes during the day so Orla will text parents on the way home. 
We are looking forward to seeing all our athletes compete over these two days & see their hard earned training come to fruition.  Best of luck to all!!

Track Training in Castleisland 8th May 2012

The Club is attending An Riocht track in Castleisland on Wednesday 8th May 2012. A bus will be leaving Ardfert Medical Centre at 6pm, stopping at Topaz petrol station (near Mounthawk School) at 6.10pm, returning at 8.50pm (Topaz) and 9pm Ardfert.

Riocht 10 miler Road Race - Results

Castleisland 10 mile road race went ahead on Sunday, the 29th of April 2012 in sunny but cool and windy conditions. 231 runners turned out for the inaugural event with Alan O'Shea of Bantry AC winning in a time of 52:42, well ahead of the second man Julio Cesar in 56:05 and Cian Murphy (Iveragh) in 57:26

The womens race was won by Karina Teahan of St.Finbarr's AC in a time of 67:42, roughly 90 seconds ahead of her nearest rival.
