Another busy weekend of action for St.Brendan's AC members, which saw athletes taking part in 4 events over Saturday & Sunday.
Brandon Mountain Marathon
First on the starting line on Saturday morning was Artur Nowak, taking part in the first mountain marathon in Dingle. With Mount Brandon in the first half and then the Conor Pass to conquer and time limits in place, it was hard going. All of the 34 runners finishing Full Marathon managed to complete course in under the 9hrs time limit. Conditions on Brandon peak were challenging with low visibility in places, making navigating rocky trail that much more difficult.
Artur Nowak finished in time of 5:33.14 in 18th position overall.

Valentia Half Marathon
Second event on a busy Saturday took place in south Kerry on Valentia Island.
We had Pat Sheehy and Tom Scanlon representing St.Brendan's AC in the annual half marathon and both runners did very well on the scenic but difficult half marathon.
Pat Sheehy clocked 1:50.45 in 50th overall position and 2nd in over 55 age group category and shortly after we had Tom Scanlon in time of 1:53.35 in 61st overall.

Tralee Carers Association 10K
Annual Tralee Carers Association road race/walk had its starting line and route changed from usual. Well over 200 people ran through the streets of Tralee in this fundraising event.
A large number of St.Brendan's AC athletes took part and participation rather then results was the main objective of this fundraising effort.
Well done to all St.Brendan's members in supporting this good cause.

Nenagh 10K
The Inaugural Nenagh.ie 10k took place last Sunday, 13th October. A larger than anticipated crowd of over 330 participants took part in the event both running and walking. The event was run in Aid of รras Mhuire Day Care Centre, Nenagh.
St.Brendan's AC was represented by John Lynch, who travelled all the way to Tipperary in pursuit of a fast course to break the 40min goal he set himself for this year.
Congratulation to John who managed to finish in 39:09 in 11th position overall.
