National Masters Indoor Championships - Athlone, 15 March 2026

 


The club had great success including the mixed relay team of Artur Nowak, Noreen Stack, Donall O’Sullivan, Ursula Barrett and David Kissane winning a historic silver medal ๐Ÿฅˆin the 4x200m mixed relay.
Individual medals were won by
Chris McKenna bronze ๐Ÿฅ‰in M35 shot put
Ursula Barrett gold ๐Ÿฅ‡ in W45 long jump
Artur Nowak silver ๐Ÿฅˆin M55 high jump
Noreen Stack bronze ๐Ÿฅ‰in W60 60m
David Kissane gold ๐Ÿฅ‡ in M70 racewalk
Denis Brosnan gold ๐Ÿฅ‡in M70 shot and bronze ๐Ÿฅ‰in weight for distance.
David Butler (M40) and Martin Butler (M70) both recorded new personal bests in shot put ๐Ÿ’ช.
Excellent performances from our team of 9 athletes on the day all either winning a medal, including 3 national champions and/or recording a personal best.

Day 2 in Nenagh and it was another great day, a Super Sunday on the medals front but like Day 1 there was a huge number of new personal bests recorded by the athletes. Over the weekend there was over 50 new personal bests recorded by our team of 30 athletes in action. Massive well done to them all on a simply superb championship weekend for the club. Thanks to the parents supporting our efforts and bringing the athletes to the competition. Thanks to our coaching team for preparing the athletes for the competition and supporting them over the weekend. Thank you to Munster Athletics officials and volunteers for their dedication over two long days in Nenagh to run off the championship with huge numbers of participants.

Day 1 of the championships and a busy day for athletes, coaches and officials with a huge number of competitors taking part from the Munster clubs. Thanks to all volunteers who helped out to run off the competitions across the day. Our 10 athletes competing on the day recorded a combined 22 new personal bests ๐Ÿ‘. Well done to our runners competing at the Munster Athletics 4 mile Road Championships hosted by An Rรญocht Athletic Club today
Representing the club in the women's race it was Aoife O'Driscoll (F45, 8th, 32:15) who was the first St Brendan's athlete across the line, followed by
