Munster Senior & Masters Track & Field Championships took place on Sunday 11 June 2017 and the venue was Cork IT track.
St.Brendan's AC had 3 Masters athletes competing in different events ranging from 100m sprint to 800m in track events and from jumps to throws.
Ursula Barrett (W40) was in great form to carry on where she left off after her indoor season and her winning form continued with 3 gold medals in 100m, 200m and Long Jump.
Her winning time in 200m was the fastest in all women's category to add this to her long jump result - also the best jump in all Masters categories.
David Kissane (M60) won 2 bronze medals in 400m and 800m on the track and silver medal in Javelin. Great to see that the new skills and some practice worked well.
Back in action after some break was our current club president, Patrick O'Riordan (M65) in flying form winning gold medals in Long Jump and High Jump. Good to see Patrick back competing.
St.Brendan's AC finished the day with an impressive tally of 5 gold medals, 1 silver and 2 bronze. Well done to all athletes for competing in difficult weather conditions

Munster Senior and Masters Indoor Championships took place on Sunday, 15 January 2017 in Nenagh Indoor track.
St.Brendan's AC had 2 athletes in Masters categories: Ursula Barrett in O40 competing in Long Jump and 200m sprint and Artur Nowak in O45 competing in Shot Putt, Weight for Distance and High Jump.
Ursula first event on the day was long jump and after winning this competition last year, setting new Munster record in Long Jump in O35 category, she didn't disappoint this year and won gold again comfortably.
She follow this up with a great performance in 200m, setting new Munster record for O40 category and collecting a second gold medal on the day.
Artur started the day with Shot Putt, finishing second in O45 category. It was much better in the next 2 events where he won gold medals in Weight For Distance (56lbs) and another in High Jump, making this 4th year in a row.
It was a great day of competition and solid performance from St.Brendan's AC athletes, getting medal from each event they were competing in.
