29.08.15 - Parkrun Tralee no.31:

29.08.15 - SANDSTORM Challenge:
Ballyheigue beach was the venue for this approx. 5km long obstacle course with over 850 people taking part. Amongst all the thrill and fun seeking participants were St.Brendan's AC members putting all the strength & conditioning training to good use:
Pat Sheehy, Mags Hussey, Yvonne Quill, Ann McGlynn, Cathy Quilter, Ursula Barrett & Brian Lucid.

05.09.15 - Dingle Half & Full Marathon
For the last few years this event has had a traditionally good turn out from our club members and this year was no exception. 

We had Artur Nowak & Kirstie Nowak tackling Full Marathon distance and Cathy Quilter, Catherine Burke, Margaret Carlin, James Daley, David Butler, Seamus Falvey & Pat Sheehy taking part in Half Marathon distance.

Conditions on the day were very good for running for almost 2000 participants.
For Kirstie & Artur it was a second marathon in 2 weeks and there were a few, brand new PB's in Half Marathon distance for James Daley, David Butler & Cathy Quilter. It clearly shows that this course being labelled as "tough", "hilly" & "challenging" are simply fairy stories!
Well done to Pat Sheehy who did half marathon distance in company of Luke Graham.

12.09.15 - Asdee GAA Half Marathon & 10K
We had Seamus Falvey & Pat Sheehy taking part in this low key event in Asdee.

Dingle Half & Full Marathon 2014

Close to 2000 people took part in this year's The Kerryman Dingle Half/Full/Ultra Marathon making it still one of the biggest and best running events in Kerry. As usual it was a professionally oganised event, with a quality finishers top and medal. One of the main advantages over some other marathons is the posting of race numbers to participants home addresses a number of days before the race, thus cutting out the need of number collection beforehand. This enables people to arrive fully ready literally 5 minutes before the start.
Again this year all routes were well marshaled where needed and water and aid stations were well stocked, this included energy gels, sports drinks, bananas and jelly beans in various places on the routes.

Weather as in the past few years was very kind for early September, which made for almost perfect conditions for endurance event. This combine with various types of entertainment provided by bands, solo musicians and even bag piper made the whole experience of running in spectacular location so much more appealing.
Ultra 50 miles - 42 finishers,
Full 26.2 miles - 326 finishers
Half 13.1 miles - 1454 finishers
